چکیده
This article considers simulation and analysis of incidence data using stochastic compartmental models in well-mixed populations. Several approaches are described compared. Thereafter, we provide an overview likelihood estimation for models. We apply one such method to a real-life outbreak set compare assuming different kinds stochasticity. also give references other publications where detailed information on this topic can be found.

A Likelihood Approach for Real-Time Calibration of Stochastic Compartmental Epidemic Models
Stochastic transmission dynamic models are especially useful for studying the early emergence of novel pathogens given the importance of chance events when the number of infectious individuals is small. However, methods for parameter estimation and prediction for these types of stochastic models remain limited. In this manuscript, we describe a calibration and prediction framework for stochasti...
متن کاملBayesian analysis of botanical epidemics using stochastic compartmental models.
A stochastic model for an epidemic, incorporating susceptible, latent, and infectious states, is developed. The model represents primary and secondary infection rates and a time-varying host susceptibility with applications to a wide range of epidemiological systems. A Markov chain Monte Carlo algorithm is presented that allows the model to be fitted to experimental observations within a Bayesi...
متن کاملThe construction of next-generation matrices for compartmental epidemic models.
The basic reproduction number (0) is arguably the most important quantity in infectious disease epidemiology. The next-generation matrix (NGM) is the natural basis for the definition and calculation of (0) where finitely many different categories of individuals are recognized. We clear up confusion that has been around in the literature concerning the construction of this matrix, specifically f...
متن کاملOn computer-intensive simulation and estimation methods for rare-event analysis in epidemic models.
This article focuses, in the context of epidemic models, on rare events that may possibly correspond to crisis situations from the perspective of public health. In general, no close analytic form for their occurrence probabilities is available, and crude Monte Carlo procedures fail. We show how recent intensive computer simulation techniques, such as interacting branching particle methods, can ...
متن کاملStochastic Epidemic Models
The present work concerns models of epidemic which are described by differential and stochastic differential equations. The theorems on the existence, uniqueness and properties of their solutions are stated. Introduction In nature, there are many diseases which can cause epidemics. Therefore it is useful to model the behavior of these diseases in order to control their progression. In this pape...
